From a start as an advertising copywriter, Tori is now one of the premier drama directors in Australia.
Tori Garrett is a film and television director with 25 years experience. From an early career in action and motor sports, Tori worked through live broadcast, to advertising and drama. Her commercial clients include the government, major banks, health care, medical and FMCG. She is also known for her ability to get fantastic performances from talent, especially children. She won the inaugural ADG award for “Best Director” for her short film ‘The Barrows’ in 2007, and has worked mainly in drama since 2011. Her credits include; ‘Wentworth’ for Foxtel, ‘Hiding’ for ABCTV, ‘Wonderland’ for TEN and Doctor Doctor for Nine Network. In 2014 she was nominated again, for “Best Director in a Television Series” for her work on ‘The Times Of Our Lives’.
Tori’s first feature film ‘Don’t Tell’ launched to critical and box office success in 2017. The film was nominated for 4 AACTA awards in 2017 and a further 5 nominations at the 2018 Critics Circle Awards in 2018.
She is also the managing partner of Two Little Indians Films, one of the country’s leading TVC production companies, who are now moving into originating long form production for film and TV.
